How Sugar Affects Your Skin
Sugar is something that has become a part of our daily diet. It is very difficult to cut out sugar completely from our meals. We consume it in the form of cakes, dough nuts, sweets, ice-creams, chocolates, porridge, juices, etc.
However, have you ever thought how the intake of sugar affects our skin? Researchers have come up with findings which state that sugar is not good for our skin. Here are some of the ways in which sugar harms our skin:

This causes our skin to lose its elasticity and age faster. As our skin becomes weak, it also succumbs to the harsh effects of pollution and damage caused by UV rays.
Sugar causes skin inflammation
The glucose present in sugar makes the collagen present underneath the skin rigid. It attaches itself to the collagen and prevents it from functioning properly.
Thus when collagen stops working properly, our skin loses its elasticity and this causes wrinkles and lines. It also causes our skin to sag and often there is a breakout in the form of acne. This also results in skin inflammation or rashes.

As cutting out sugar completely from our diet is near to impossible, we have to follow certain practices on a regular basis in order to protect our skin from the damages that it causes.
The first thing is to drink lots of water. Water keeps our skin hydrated and prevents the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Also have foods rich in vitamins C and E and anti-oxidants. These will protect your skin from damage and keep it soft, smooth and supple.
