Are your eyelashes dry and brittle? Is it slowly but steadily thinning out? Then, what you need are home remedies for weak and brittle eyelashes.
Before exploring homemade masks for thicker lashes, let us first understand why the lashes fall out.
Some obvious reasons could be vitamin deficiency, genetics and hormonal imbalance.
Other than that, there are also things you do that can contribute to the condition, like rubbing your eyes too much, chocking your hair follicles with layers after layers of mascara, not removing makeup residue thoroughly and, the most dreaded culprit, repeated usage of curler.
First thing's first, break away from the habit, giving your frail lashes some breathing space from makeup and try being gentle with it.

It is when combined with a vitamin-rich diet, adequate water and gentle care that you can derive most out of these masks!

Eyelid Massage
Wash your hands. Using the soft pads of your finger, close your eyes and gently massage the eyelids. The stimulated blood flow will promote the regeneration of new hair follicles, making eyelashes thicker.

Remove Makeup
We cannot emphasize on this enough. Strength of your eyelashes is inadvertently dependent on the kind of care you take. If you don't want harsh chemicals to chock hair follicles, invest 2 minutes of your time to remove every last residue of makeup. Use baby oil, as it is easy on the skin.

Brush
Just like your hair, your lashes too need some grooming. Use eyelashes brush or a clean mascara wand to stroke lashes twice a day. It will stimulate blood flow and help the natural oils distribute evenly, promoting growth.

Petroleum Jelly
Petroleum Jelly is a natural emollient, which nourishes the lashes effectively. Using a cotton swab, gently dab the petroleum jelly on to your lashes. Let it sit overnight, by morning, your lashes will be visibly darker and well defined. This homemade mask will give you thicker lashes in a week.

Olive Oil
Antioxidants in olive oil will enter deep into pores, nourishing lashes from the roots. Massage your eyelids and lashes with a few drops of olive oil, every night, before going to bed.

Lemon Peel
Citric acid and vitamin C in lemon are known to strengthen the eyelashes from roots. Put out lemon peel under direct sun to dry for 24 hours. Grind it into a fine powder. Take a teaspoon of the powder, and mix it with a few drops of olive oil. With a mascara wand, apply it to your eyelashes. After an hour, wipe with a clean, wet towel.

Almond Oil
Vitamin E in almond oil unclogs pores and stimulates growth. Massage a few drops of almond oil onto your lashes before going to bed. Let it sit overnight. Follow this lashes-strengthening herbal serum every night to see best results.

Vitamin E Gel
For thicker, longer and stronger lashes, try this homemade mask. Break open a vitamin E capsule, extract the gel. Using the soft pad of your fingers, massage it. Let it sit overnight.

Aloe Vera Gel
Aloesin in aloe vera heals the damaged hair follicles, strengthens roots and prevent the lashes from getting dry. Cut aloe vera leaf in half, and with a spoon extract the pulp. Massage the gel on to your lashes and eyebrows. Let it sit overnight. Follow this Ayurvedic remedy for dry lashes thrice a week.

Coconut Oil
Coconut oil will not just make your lashes stronger, but also thicker and darker. Take a small dab of petroleum jelly, and mix in a few drops of coconut oil with it. Apply it liberally to your lashes and eyelids. Massage for 2 minutes and let it stay overnight.

Egg
Being a powerhouse of proteins, egg nourishes weak hair follicles and promotes the regeneration of new cells. Take egg white; and using a mascara wand, apply a thin coat on to your lashes. When the homemade mask for thicker lashes fully dries off, wipe it clean. Follow it up by massaging a few drops of castor oil.

Green Tea
Yet another simple tip on how to strengthen weak lashes naturally. Green tea has a high ratio of flavonoids, which cleanse the pores and stimulate growth.
Dip a cotton ball in green tea. Wring out the excess. Dab it on to your lashes. Leave it on overnight. Wash it off in the morning.
