Her painful expression and the blood on her face is enough to turn your stomach.

But blood facial is now in news because model Gisele Bündchen has been clicked for Vogue's latest issue while getting this type of facial done. Now that we have a fashion magazine like Vogue carry this painful beauty procedure, may be we should find out if it is really worth it.

Procedure For Vampire Facial

The blood used in this facial is not animal blood. Thank god for that; atleast PETA enthusiasts will be pacified that no cruelty is being done to animals due to a vain beauty procedure. The blood used here is totally human. In fact, it is the blood that is drawn from your own arms. The blood is then passed through a centrifugal tube to remove the platelets from it.

The blood minus the platelets is then injected into the skin via several tiny needles. Judging by the expression Kim Kardashian had put up on her Twitter photo, this part of facial is quite painful. After taking all this pain, the injected blood is supposed to foster the growth of fresh collagen tissue in the facial skin. This will naturally do away with all the tell-tale signs of ageing.

The procedure is not strictly speaking dangerous. Only 2 teaspoons of blood is drawn from your body. And the tiny needles do not go much deeper than your hypo-dermis. Whether this gross beauty treatment actually works or not is yet to be seen. But if you have the stomach for it, you can try it by all means.
