Should You Apply A Sunscreen?
There are many propagations on both side of the theory. Some say that a sunscreen is god for your health while some researches just cite the opposite of it. You are always advised to apply a sunscreen all over your skin to protect you from the sun rays. But, everything has its own merits and demerits.
A sunscreen below SPF 30 is of no good even in the winter season. Hence people are always recommended to apply a sunscreen of the same or above its value. But you must always be careful before choosing the right sunscreen for your skin. Your skin might be sensitive and not tolerant to the chemicals in the sunscreen. The sunscreen are always replete with a host of chemicals that are supposed to protect you from the harmful sun rays. But these very chemicals in the sunscreen might damage the skin and make it rough and dry. Hence it is not completely safe to use a sunscreen.
But,
a
herbal
or
organic
sunscreen
is
rather
safe
to
use.
They
do
not
have
much
chemical
composition.
You
must
have
heard
that
too
much
exposure
to
the
sun
causes
cancer.
This
is
true
as
the
harmful
UVA
and
the
UVB
rays
causes
melanoma
(skin
cancer).
But,
an
application
of
sunscreen
on
the
skin
does
not
give
you
complete
protection.
But
there
are
many
good
sides
to
the
application
of
a
sunscreen
on
skin.
They
provide
you
at
least
some
protection
from
the
sun
radiations
that
causes
cancer.
They
also
prevent
skin
darkening.
And
if
you
have
sun
allergy
then
you
must
apply
this.
Here
are
a
few
things
that
you
should
consider
before
applying
a
sunscreen.

Skin Darkening
If you apply sunscreen in your face and body then that's definitely going to rid you of sun tan.

Skin Damage
The harmful chemicals in the sunscreen when applied on skin makes potential skin damage. It makes the skin go dry and lifeless.

Skin Cancer
We all apply a sunscreen on skin because of the fact that the sun rays cause skin cancer. But you must have noticed that most of the sunscreens claim to provide protection from the UVB and not the UVA rays which are the most harmful.

Hormones
A sunscreen is not safe to use as the chemicals sometimes protrude into the bloodstream and even harm the hormonal function in the human body. This leads to a host of diseases like skin rashes, allergies and even Alzheimer's disease.

Vitamin D
This vitamin is produced in the body naturally. So, when you apply a sunscreen and the skin is unable to make direct contact with the sun the body fails to synthesize this vitamin.
