Bengali Hairstyles: Durga Puja Spcl
Durga Puja is around the corner. There are many ways to celebrate the biggest festival of Bengal with lots of fun, joy and happiness. It is commonly known as Durgotsava (the festival of Goddess Durga). People worship the Goddess and visit pandals. Durga Puja is a 7 days celebration. From Mahalaya, the pujo fever starts and in every nook and corner of the state, you will find pandals and beautifully decorated Durga murtis (idols).
Bengalis dress beautifully and roam whole night to view Durga idols in different pandals. The smell of dhuni, lightings, sound, crowded streets, yummy Bengali delicacies, fun rides etc can just boost up your mood.
These 7 days are celebrated in every part of the country. In Bengal it is known as Durga Puja whereas in Gujarat, it is known as Navaratri. Gujaratis play dandiya and dance around to celebrate the festival of Durga.
The excitement of Durga Puja commences a month before. You can see Bengalis shopping and discussing on what they will wear every day. From dresses to shoes to makeup, everything is planned.
