Make up brushes are the key tools for flawless make up applications. Choose the right quality of make up brushes and see the flamboyant glow on your skin. However, of the hundreds of make up brushes in the market how do you know which one is the best? Here are few guidelines on how to choose the right types of brush for an apt application.

Choosing make up brushes
Use natural bristles, which have soft touch and helps to apply powder blush, face powder, eyeshadow or lipsticks effectively. Use synthetic bristles for oil-based products like eyeshadow base, cream eyeshadows and concealers. Make sure that you choose dense brushes with silky texture and tapered round shape.

Make up brush maintenance
Wash them once a month with a gentle foaming cleanser, hair shampoo or just plain soap and water. Squeeze out excess water by laying them down flat between a soft folded towel and air-dry it. Wash lipstick brushes with gentle oil removing wash that you use for your skin. Avoid using the same make up brushes for light and dark shades. Throw away the worn out brushes lest it causes flaw in your make up. Replace them once in a year. Do not share the same make up brushes as it may lead to infection.

Types of make up brushes

Powder or Blush Brushes: Ideal powder brushes should be flat with rounded edges. These kinds of brushes will be able to squeeze into area where shine is prevalent. You can even use it to apply blush of bronzer. Do not use huge, fat brushes, as they do not get into places, which need the most powder. While applying make sure that you apply the right amount of product with correct angle and pressure for an effective application.

Eyeshadow brushes: For a smoky or multitude shadow effect you will need two types of eyeshadow brushes. The first type of brush will give you concentrated look around the rim of the eyes and the other gives a soft application over the entire eyelid. Go for dense angled brush for more vivid colour.

Eyebrow Brushes: Purchase an eyebrow brush with firm bristles made of nylon. The firm bristles help in separating and shaping the eyebrow. It will also groom and control the short eyebrow hairs. Make sure they have an angled head that can be used to apply a small amount of shadow through the brow hairs too.

Lip Brush: These brushes are designed with fine bristles. A flat brush with a straight end is apt for precise application. Stiff synthetic lip brushes give good control while applying lipsticks. They also give smooth finish to dark colours and add gloss for extra shine.

Highlight Brushes:
These brushes are most frequently used under the eyes. To apply enough highlight powder the brush should be slightly larger than the eyeshadow brush. For best results go for brushes that are dense and has rounded tip.

Concealer Brushes:
It is used along with the cream to hide the flaws in the skin. While applying make up remember not to overload the tapered flat- headed brush with excessive concealer cream. See that these brushes are firm with a tip that can reach the most difficult darker spots
