A Unique Take On Hair Care! 7 Thoughtful Tips For Stunning Strands
Shampoo, conditioner, and style - yes, this conventional beauty wisdom is mostly followed to manage the mane. But, this self-care approach can be taken forward and you can get the locks of your dreams following an unconventional and unique hair care routine.
Excited to nurture your tresses with the right haircare hacks? Simply follow these steps to pamper and nourish your locks!
Pre-Wash The Mane
Before shampooing, consider pre-washing your hair. This can be achieved by simply oiling the locks with natural or organic choices like coconut, argan, or olive oil. This will give the required moisture and hydration to your dry hair.
Allow the oil to work like magic for at least 30-35 minutes. You can always leave it on overnight to get the deep nourishment benefits.
Coffee Rinse For Volume And Shine
Don't just drink coffee, apply it to the hair as well! Brew the coffee (around one cup), allow it to cool, and use the same for rinsing the hair post your shampoo session.
The caffeine available in coffee helps strengthen hair follicles and promotes hair growth and antioxidants provide shine to it. Ensure to rinse the coffee mixture thoroughly with lukewarm water to get rid of the lingering scent.
The No-Poo Method
Ditching traditional shampoo for the no-poo method is gaining popularity. Instead of shampooing, you can go for alternatives like baking soda or a water-apple cider vinegar mixture.
Baking soda is an excellent exfoliant whereas apple cider vinegar adds shine and balances the scalp's pH level. This haircare method reduces the product buildup and keeps your locks clean and gorgeous!
Scrub The Scalp
Pampering the scalp is equally important as caring for your hair ends. Scrubbing the scalp routine will help remove the excellent oil, dead skin and product buildup.
Create a DIY scrub mask with one tablespoon of raw sugar and one teaspoon of sea salt, one teaspoon of either coconut or almond oil. Message the hair mixture into the scalp, let it sit for 10-15 minutes, and rinse thoroughly. This DIY mix cleanses the scalp and promotes hair growth.
Use Silk Pillowcases
Making the switch to silk pillowcases could significantly improve your hair. Silk, as opposed to cotton, lowers friction, which may result in less frizz and breakage.
Silk also aids in moisture retention, so your hair stays hydrated all night. Your hair's general health and beauty can be greatly improved by this minor change.
DIY Hair Masks
When you can make your own hair masks with everyday household items, why spend money on packaged ones? Your hair can benefit greatly from ingredients like yogurt, honey, avocado, and banana.
Mix 1 ripe banana with one tablespoon each of honey and olive oil to make a healthy mask. After applying it to your locks, rinse after 30 minutes. The natural nourishment will be greatly appreciated by your hair!
Do Mindful Styling
Look for heat-free style techniques rather than depending on heat-styling products. Without the damage that curling irons may do, moist hair can be braided into gorgeous waves. For curls, you might also try using flexi-rods or foam rollers.
Consider putting the hair in a bun whilst it's still moist if you want a smooth style. These techniques help your hair's natural texture to show through while simultaneously protecting it from heat damage.
