Split ends make long hair look very ugly. Many women don't want to grow their hair long because they are wary of split ends. What is the point of growing your hair when you will eventually have to trim the split ends and in the process shorten your hair? Basically the appearance of split ends makes the entire process of growing your hair seem futile.

But you can have long hair without split ends if you follow a few simple steps. To remove split ends and keep your hair healthy, do the following.

Tie Hair While Travelling
A blast of wind that blows your hair may seem very romantic. However, it does a lot of damage to your hair. Long hair has to be tied whenever you are travelling. Especially if you are travelling by a bike, keep your hair safely braided. When hair is tied up while travelling it saves you the trouble of trimming split ends later on.

Tie Hair Before Sleeping
When you leave your hair open at night, it gets rubbed against the pillows. This rubbing causes friction that makes the hair ends split up. Long hair will have split ends if it is not tied up before going to bed. And don't make a pony; you need to braid your hair before you go off to bed.

Don't Use Hot Irons
The harsh heat and pressure of hot irons also makes your hair crack up. Hot irons damage your hair beyond repair. So do not try to straighten your hair with hot irons often if you don't want to remove split ends later.

Don't Use Blow Dryers
Long hair is difficult to dry and that is why most women tend to use blow dryers. However, this short cut to drying your hair may actually be the main cause of split ends. Do not blow dry your hair; allow it to dry naturally. Go out and stand in the sun for sometime to hasten the process of drying. You can also sit under the fan to dry your hair. Avoid washing your hair in the evening because it takes longer to dry.

Apart from these, regular oil massages can reduce the amount of split ends in long hair. Try these ways tricks to grow your hair long and still be free from split ends.
