Vaginal odour can be triggered from a variety of reasons including menstruation, sweat accumulation, bacterial vaginosis, hormonal changes, poor hygiene and more. Irrespective of the cause, here are a few natural tips to keep it healthy and smelling fresh down there.

Yogurt Wash
Yoghurt is rich in anti-bacterial properties, which when applied topically, can rid of most pungent of odours. Here is what you need to do. Dip a tampon in fresh yogurt and insert it in your vagina. Leave it on for 2 to 3 hours. After removing the tampon, wash your private area in lukewarm water.

Tea Tree Oil
Tea Tree oil does not just come in handy when treating those angry zits. Rich anti-microbial properties present in it can also eliminate odour-causing bacteria in your vagina. Add a few drops of tea tree oil in a cup of water. Use the solution to wash your private area after taking a shower.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Add 1 or 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to a glass of lukewarm water and drink it everyday. Packed with anti-bacterial and anti-septic properties, apple cider vinegar can go a long way in flushing out the toxins from your body, beating odour-causing bacteria.

Garlic
You may be wondering how garlic can possibly beat vaginal smell! Believe it or not, its anti-microbial properties are known to do just that. Take a few peeled garlic cloves, grind them into a fine paste and apply it over your vagina. Leave it on for a couple of hours, before washing it clean with cold water.

Go Commando
Say goodbye to your lacy underwear and silky thong and embrace cotton undies for a few days. Cotton will help your skin breathe better. Also, it is a good idea to go commando every night. The extra ventilation will help dry excess moisture, while clearing out any bacteria.

Herbal Tea
Brew a cup of fresh tea with used mint tea bag. Allow the solution to cool and use it to rinse your vaginal area. Try the method once every week. This old yet tested trick is bound to work wonders!
Before trying out any of the above tips, make sure you don't have any allergic reaction to the ingredients mentioned. Making necessary alteration in the dietary habits can also go a long way in treating vaginal odour. If the condition persists, make sure to consult a reputed gynaecologist.
