12 Things You Must Do In Case Of Sun Damage!
Stepping out into the sun can make a lot of elements in your skin go absolutely haywire. There are certain things you must do after you go out in the sun, to avoid issues and skin problems from happening to your skin!
We usually do manage to pay extra attention and take care of the skin on our faces. It has almost become like second nature to us. But, the body skin often gets neglected, which is at times a little logical, as the skin on our bodies is a lot tougher than the skin on the face.
It does not mean that the body is immune to ever getting tanned. Of course even the body gets tanned. And, sometimes, it shows up in the form of a stark contrast in colour in the areas that were covered and the areas that were exposed.
Tanning is not the only problem either. There are other skin problems like rashes and prickly heat and even cracking of the skin. But, look no further for all your concerns relating to sun damage have been addressed here, in this article. Keep reading!
1. Ice: Immediately after heavy exposure to the sun, the skin can look irritated and red. In order to cool it down, ice is definitely the best option. You will get an instant relief that would make you feel a lot calmer.

2. Aloe Vera: Since the sun damage can be quite harsh, you will need to apply aloe vera gel after the ice. This gives your further cooling and helps heal the skin while the skin retains its moisture.

3. Lemon Juice: If you don't wish to get tanned, as most of us don't, apply lemon juice on the area immediately after. Lemon juice is the strongest natural bleach, and the sooner you apply this, the better it is.

4. Shower: A cool shower is sometimes the best thing to do after facing sun damage. It can be relaxing and really help take down the burn and the itchiness.

5. Skin Coolant: Under the things to do after sun damage, this is the most important step. After taking a shower, be sure to apply any skin coolant of your choice, be it aloe vera gel or cucumber gel. You can even rub cucumber slices on your body.

6. Cold Compress: Keep applying cold compress on the areas as much as you can, in order to get rid of the burns fast. Wrap some ice cubes in a handkerchief and use it as a cold compress.

7. SPF: For stepping out into the sun after this, make sure you use an SPF product of at least SPF 30, to avoid any more damage to the skin that is already irritated. We recommend going for SPF 50.

8. Umbrellas: As an additional measure of precaution, carry an umbrella with you to ensure that the harsh rays of the sun do not hit you directly.

9. Cover: In case the damage looks too unsightly, use a body foundation to cover it up. Do this only if you have an event or a function to get to.

10. For Feet: Always remember to apply sunscreen to your feet. They often get neglected and ignored and end up in getting tanned the most. This is one of the things to do after sun damage without fail.

11. Shoes: Try to wear shoes that cover your feet rather than sandals or slippers, in order to prevent the skin from being exposed to the sun.

12. Witch Hazel: A witch hazel toner can be really helpful when dealing with sun damage. Witch hazel can heal the skin and reduce the redness of the skin to a great extent.
