10 Easy Flaky Skin Care Tips
Our skin is most exposed to the wear and tear of the changing weather conditions. During winters, everyone’s skin faces the problems of dryness. It becomes a challenge looking after flaky skin. The itchiness is irritating and if you run your nail against the skin, the mark will be distinctly visible. Goes without saying how embarrassing a condition that is. So what does one can do to avoid dry flaky skin during the dry winter months?
Actually, taking care of skin is not that great a problem as it has been made to occur. Moreover, the cold cream and moisturiser selling companies make this problem sound greater than what it really is. Following simple skin care tips and incorporating them into daily life routine can solve the problem to a great extent.
HOMEMADE BODY LOTIONS FOR WINTER
Given here are some very basic skin care tips that work for all skin types and in all weathers. The need is to realise the importance of skin care as the condition of the skin speaks a lot about one’s general health. Moreover, if you are prone to flaky skin, then it becomes all the more important for you to pay extra attention. Looking after flaky skin is rather important as it can cause serious discomfort if unattended.

Stay Hydrated
What goes in, shows on the outside. If you hydrate yourself well, the skin will glow with health. Make it a point to drink at least two litres of water every day. Fill two one litre of bottles and make sure to finish both by the end of the day. Also, have plenty of fluids.

Balanced diet
Along with fluids and water, have a well-balanced diet. See to it that every meal is a perfect combination of carbs, proteins, vitamins and minerals. When you eat and drink well, the skin receives the perfect nutrition.

Warm showers
Are you used to taking hot showers? It is high time you ditched the habit. Hot water causes increased dryness and can eventually lead to flaky skin. It can even be a cause of dandruff.

Glycerin soaps
One part of looking after flaky skin is choosing the right kind of soap. Go for clear glycerin soaps that keep the skin moisturised. Excessively scented soaps are often seen to cause dryness and itchiness after use.

Cleanse regularly
One requirement for skin care is cleansing. Make sure to regularly cleanse your skin, especially the face. Wash your face with a mild face wash thrice a day, and definitely before bedtime. Use a mild natural face scrub twice a week to get rid of dry and dead skin.

Moisturise
Skin is flaky because it is not moisturised. Make moisturising a regular habit. Use mild water-based moisturisers to avoid that oily and sticky look. The best time to apply moisturisers is soon after a bath as absorption is best at this time.

Sunscreen
The sun is good for its vitamin D, but at the same time, it can cause damage to the skin. In order to get the benefits and stay away from damages, it is best to apply a good sunscreen. And this is not only required when you step out, but also when you are indoors.

Smart Shaving
When getting rid of unwanted hair, take care of the skin too. In order to protect the skin and keep it in good condition, moisten the skin before shaving. Let the skin get soft and then shave in the direction of the hair growth. This prevents skin irritation as well. Using a moisturising shaving cream is also advisable.

Humidify
In order to counter the effects of dryness, it would be a good idea to place humidifiers indoors. They help moisten the air within and prevent dryness.

Alcohol-free products
Alcohol tends to dry the skin and if you are prone to flaky skin, say no to all alcohol containing skin-care products. It would also be advisable to limit the intake of alcohol as the skin is greatly influenced by what one consumes.
