Summer beauty care
Summer is a beautiful season when flowers bloom, birds chirp and people are happy in their own little ways. But this sounds poetic when we take into consideration that summer can also be harsh on us, our skin and even on our health if not taken good care of. Summer can harm your natural beauty and thus can prove very adverse for some people. You have to be a water baby in summer if you want to maintain a healthy body and maintain your natural beauty. Water is the only thing that can keep you and your beauty intact in many different ways. In this scorching heat, what you need is to understand the nature of your skin and work out accordingly to keep it beautiful and glowing. A beautiful skin and a beautiful mind are complementary. Your mind and health cannot be kept healthy if you have a bad and unhealthy skin.

In the summer there are certain things that you need to take care of, like the body skin care, the feet care, the body odour control, and some other supplementary tips to keep one self hygienic and free from any sort of adverse effects in the hot summer season.

Skin Care - the Mantra is to moisturize your skin

Moisturisation is the most important part of daily skin care. You may be surprised that your summer skin, which looked radiant throughout winter, suddenly looks dull, blemished and oily. "This is because, in winter your skin's natural oils solidify, whereas in summer they flow freely," explains Kristina McHugh, South African beauty specialist. Because of this, most people need a lighter moisturizer in hot weather.

Although you must buy a water-based moisturizer, you need to work out your skin's needs. Maybe just plain water works for you. Herbal beautician Shahnaz Husain says that flower-based lotions like rose water or cucumber water (made by diluting cucumber juice with water) can be sprayed on the face to tone and refresh it. You need to cool these tonics in the fridge before use.

Besides this, make a habit of splashing your face gently with water for instant freshness (try and use mineral water). You can splash as many as 20 times as long as you don't use very hot or cold water on your skin (which can cause fine vein to appear on your face). Steam face regularly to release dirt (five minutes for dry skin and 10 minutes if it is oily). Pat dry with tissue and moisturize. Moisturizers should be used damp on the skin. This seals in the water and helps skin to hold the moisture better.

Some tips are also given to you for taking care of your skin in this scorching heat of summer and they can be stated as follows:

Invest in a good foot scrub that removes all your dead cells. If you don't have the time for that, just whip up some besan with almonds and scrub your feet with the paste. Pretty feet guaranteed. To protect your back from the scorching heat, wear cottons rather than synthetics, avoid harsh cleansers and use oil control talc. Rosewater, besan, lemon juice and fruits such as oranges and apples are good for your skin. For a quick skin boost in the sun, fill a misting bottle with a little bit of toner and water, and spritz your face and body for a quick cool off. Just remember to close your eyes so that you don't risk burning them.

Flip-flop with bright summery prints, and strappy sandals are definitely the right choice this season. Avoid socks and keds too as they cause your feet to stink and you might end up getting heat rash. Carry a nice pair of sunglasses and don't worry about making a style statement. Indulge in ice creams and fresh fruit juices. They help you flush toxins out of your body and leave your skin glowing throughout the day.
